I deployed AWTRIX in the Docker of OpenWRT at home. The public IP of the home is dynamic. I bind the IP into a domain name by DDNS. However, when connecting to AWTRIX, it cannot connect after entering the domain name in the host address bar.
How to solve it?
ZivenJay You should make sure that the port 7000 from your AwTrix Docker (details can be found on Docker.com and using parameter -p in docker run) is mapped through the router so that is exposed to your public IP address (e.g. your DDNS). But please be aware that you don't have any security (e.g. login/password) to protect your access to the AwMatrix controller.
If the Host and the Controller are running in the same local network, you cannot use a domain name. It will only work if your Host is hosted outside your network. But this has nothing to do with awtrix. use IP adress or hostname instead
I tried using a domain name and found it to be invalid. I can only use an IP address, which is very distressing.
Again, you cannot use a domain name from local network. That's how your router works. It's not awtrix fault
