Thanks - done
Strange - I compile V0.32 and upload that freshly complied file but status always show me 0.31.
I always have to power off and on 'after' update - could it be that the update is not running through completely?
Should there be any feedback from the ESP after uploading the file? I've tired the *.elf and the *.bin without any luck.
After Upload the ESPs website says:
Update Success! Rebooting...
Interesting -does not happen in my case. What file should I use *.elf or *.bin?
The bin file. Don't know if elf works too.
After clicking upload look at the statusbar at the bottom of your browser. It should tell upload (x%) or something like that
can I ask, I thought to do the ota it was (awtrix ip /update) is that correct
Only IP address of the ESP is enough
browsing to that address redirects me to [IP]/update and every time I use the .bin file, which is shown in the build log in visual code, the browser window starts loading because I think the ESP is crashing - I will have to upload it manually
Same here- Firefox is showing no progress/ Chrome starts and jump to 17% and stops then - poanda how do you ‘manuell upload‘?
hollyghost would not test before you break your pc 😃 evetually you have to go into flash mode by holding the flash button while its booting
hollyghost yes over usb
I think via USB🙂
Since the controller use a finished library for OTA Update, im not able to detect the problem (also because it works for me without any problems)
Thanks Blueforcer - I will have a look at the UpdateServer project. I've tried to connect my current hardware (version 0.31 and disconnected power supply) via USB but the hardware was no longer detected - so no COM was available. Could I connect USB and external +5V in parallel without destroying my USB-port?
hollyghost maybe a powered usb-hub will help you out.
Hilei Thanks - but this is not my point - I could disconnect the matrix to safe power. I'd like to know if I could connect USB and +5V in parallel to the Wemos
Hi poanda - Flash button? You mean that reset button? Or do I need to connect/solder a second one?
I get from the UpdateServer project that they found a bug in the module. If an online update attempt fails, you need to reset/restart the controller before you are going to start the next try - I need to restart the controller anyway because it hangs up during the update 😅
can I download lastest controller software and update via atom usb to the D1 as normal to get v32 or would this cause problems
Sure you can do. dont forget to edit the settings inside the firmware!
Blueforcer yep will do just for info the download was v32 no problems
all working and updated had to swap data pin from D4 to D2, matrix status was running ok but now showing disconnected will reboot and check
