Just want to add my experience with a printed diffusor.
AwtrixPro_Diffusor.stl from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4155357.
I did not read this discussion (printing the first two layers in white and change to black) until now.
I also wanted a black diffusor/case.
To make it transparent I printed only the first layer. (layer hight 0.16)
Than I printed the frame separately.
The blue tape on the print bed give the dufussor a matt finish which I like.
The downside are the diagonal lines where there is a little gap between the tapes.
My first layer ist not perfect. I am just beginning with 3D printing. 😅
Once I get new black filament I will test some more to get an even better diffusor.
Some things I will try:
- Mesh Bed Leveling
- thinner layer hight?
- no blue tape
- wider nozzle
I think it would be usefull if the Thingyverse-Thing would contain a file with just the diffusor (without frame; 0.2mm hight?).
And the thing with diffusor and frame would also be better (for me) if the diffusor would only be one layer hight.
But I just realize I could move the object in Cura down in the bed until it is only one layer hight. 😁
What do you think?
Did you try black filament?
Any other suggestions?
